How to buy your first coin on degenerate.GG
To buy a platform coin on degenerate.GG, sign in with email, add SOL to your wallet, open the coin's page and review a buy. This walkthrough explains the steps and the numbers to check.
1. Sign in and open your wallet
Open Wallet and sign in with your email code. Email sign-in connects your account to a Solana wallet, so you do not need to install a browser wallet extension to get started.
Check the wallet address displayed in your account before sending funds. Keep your sign-in codes and wallet recovery material private.
2. Add SOL on the Solana network
Copy the address from the Wallet page and use it as the destination for a SOL transfer from your exchange or another wallet. Select the Solana network at the sender. Do not choose a different blockchain just because it also lists a token called SOL.
Wait for the transfer to arrive and the available balance to update. Your trading budget needs to cover both the buy and the network costs; do not use your entire SOL balance as the purchase amount.
3. Check the coin you are opening
Browse the market or follow a coin's link. Before entering an amount, check:
- The mint address. It identifies the token. Names, symbols and logos can be copied.
- The market state. A coin can be on its curve, graduating, or trading through a Raydium pool.
- The available data. Review the price chart, holders and liquidity information. Missing or delayed data should not be treated as current.
- Your reason for buying. A rising chart or a familiar meme does not establish future demand.
4. Enter a buy amount and review it
Choose Buy in the coin's trading panel and enter the SOL amount you want to spend. The buy control prepares the current trade and opens the wallet approval. Check the amount before approving.
The number of coins you receive depends on the current curve or pool, your order size and the trading fee. The displayed chart price is not a promise that every token in your order will execute at that price.
What the 1% slippage limit means
The current trade flow uses a 1% slippage limit. It bounds how much worse the execution can be relative to the quote used to prepare the trade. It is not an additional 1% platform fee, and it does not guarantee that a quote stays available.
Price impact from your order size is already part of the quote. Slippage covers movement relative to that quote before execution. Learn the distinction in the sell quote and P&L guide.
5. Approve once, then check the outcome
Check the amount and the wallet prompt, then approve if the transaction matches your intention. Wait for the result and use its transaction link to inspect the explorer receipt.
If the page reports a pending or uncertain result, check the existing transaction before submitting another buy. A slow page response does not by itself prove that nothing happened on-chain.
6. Find your holdings
Return to Wallet to view your SOL and coin balances. The coin's trading panel also shows your position when the data is available.
Wallet value and P&L are estimates. They depend on available market data and the recorded purchase history; neither is a guarantee of the SOL a future sale will return.
Ready to sell later?
Open the same mint's page, choose Sell and enter the token amount. Review the current quote and network costs. A sale can be limited by liquidity or market state even when a balance is visible.
Memecoins can lose all of their value. This guide explains the transaction flow, not which coin to buy or how much to invest.
